New dataset: MoG+: mouse genome database with high added value

We are pleased to announce the release of MoG+ RDF in RDF Portal.

MoG+(Mouse Genome database with high added value) is a mouse genomic variation database provided by the RIKEN BioResource Research Center. It provides genomic variation information for diverse laboratory mouse strains, including wild-derived strains and classical inbred strains, and supports comparative analysis of mouse genomic polymorphisms.

MoG+ RDF represents MoG+ genomic variation data as RDF so that mouse strain variants can be searched, integrated, and analyzed together with other RDF datasets. The RDF dataset describes variant records, genotype calls for mouse strains, variant effect annotations derived from VEP or SnpEff, and links between variants and Ensembl mouse genes based on genomic coordinate overlap.

A key feature of this RDF representation is the use of standard and reusable vocabularies for genomic data. Genomic locations are represented using FALDO, and mouse chromosome references are represented using MCO(Mouse Chromosome Ontology). In connection with the release of MoG+ RDF, MCO has also been registered in RDF Portal as a reference ontology for describing mouse chromosomes and genome assemblies.

The use of MCO and FALDO is important for improving interoperability among mouse genome RDF datasets. By representing chromosome references, genome coordinates, and variant positions with shared ontologies, future RDF datasets related to the mouse genome can be more easily linked, queried, and compared across resources.
